PalaRaiffeisen takes shape: the laying of the GlassFloor in the main gymnasium has begun
Installation of GlassFloor in the main gymnasium begins
The chosen system, supplied by ASB GlassFloor, is a glass and LED sports floor integrated into an aluminum support structure. Due to the transparency of the surface, the court can accommodate a fully customizable LED lighting system under the glass.
In fact, the lines of play are projected directly onto the ground and can be digitally activated, modified or deactivated according to the discipline being practiced. This is a solution that allows the space to be quickly adapted to different sports configurations and also opens up new possibilities in terms of scenery and experience for spectators and athletes.
The PalaRaiffeisen's main gymnasium will host basketball and volleyball activities and competitions in particular, but it will also be prepared for numerous other indoor disciplines and non-sports events.
With a capacity of up to 3,000 spectators for sports events and up to 4,000 for concerts and shows, the new Palazzetto will represent one of the main hubs dedicated to sports and events in Italian-speaking Switzerland.
Work on the PalaRaiffeisen is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
